Love this place. Great food, especially the pizzas, great ambience, and courteous, friendly service. A real Freeport standout. You can't go wrong here, whether it's with the seafood, pasta, or said pizzas.

Great restaurant spot in downtown Freeport. Bar seating area and yummy drink menu as well. Great business lunch spot - something for everyone on the menu. Dinner can have long waits during certain times of the year so try to book a reservation or call ahead. Great for larger groups or group celebrations (with reservation). Free Parking is behind the restaurant. Interiors are beautifully decorated by Nicolas Home. Weekday (excluding) Friday Happy Hour. Sundays they offer brunch until 3pm i think. In warmer months there is outdoor seating.

While spending Christmas with relatives in Freeport, Maine, one afternoon my companion and I found ourselves on the prowl for a suitable restaurant in which to enjoy a casual lite lunch. Evidently a great many others had entertained similar thoughts, as the Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro was full and overflowing. And as you would undoubtedly surmise from the enclosed photographs - Christmas rush notwithstanding - Bistro is always an immensely popular spot. Fortunately, we arrived just in time to snare a recently vacated high-top in the bar area. Which afforded us not only an up-close-and-personal view of the bustling bar scene, but also of the activity swirling around the semi-open kitchen. Our lunch menu held no surprises: Antipasti... Insalate... Sandwiches... House Made Pasta... Brick Oven Pizza. All the usual suspects, present and accounted for. That being said however, there were a number of interesting choices along the way. The Maine Mussels, for example, straight from Bangs Island; or the Lobster Bisque, featuring fresh Maine lobster... The pastas - Marsala... Bolognese... Parmigiana... Spicy Tuscan Shrimp - certainly appealed. Ditto the Brick Oven Pizza. But this, as noted above, was to be a lite lunch, as we already had reservations for a rather early dinner engagement that same evening. So, we zeroed in on the sandwiches, finally deciding that our best course of action might simply be to split one. Fine... But which one? The Bistro Burger, Italian Beef, and Porchetta all seemed a bit over the top for a lite lunch. It came down to a choice between the Chicken Parmigiana and Local Haddock. We chose the latter... which, unfortunately, proved to be something of a disappointment. Nothing "bad" per se. The breading was nicely crisp and the haddock quite fresh. It's just that anything even approximately flavor - either in the breading or the fish itself - was conspicuous by its absence. Totally bland. Not even the roasted tomato-olive caponata and lemon basil aioli adorning the toasted brioche bun could snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Fish, quite obviously, is not the kitchen's strong suit. I have no doubt, however, that a more straightforward approach to the menu - namely the aforementioned Chicken Parmigiana - would have yielding more satisfying results. We had, in a word, chosen... poorly. Something you may wish to keep in mind for a future visit.

we were super excited when we walked into this venue. It was so beautiful & rustic. Very fitting for our New England road trip. The restaurant was very busy so we chose a high top (self seating) by the bar. Service was on point! Had drinks then started with a Caesar Salad, a little heavily dressed but delish! We shared a pizza and chicken Parmesan. Everything was so good. Great wine to accompany the meal. I wish they were in South Florida. Would definitely recommend

Probably the best food option in Freeport! Reservation recommended, it gets quite busy, especially on the weekends. The interior is beautiful and service is always on par. I'm deducting one star because I've never been a big fan of the drinks/cocktails here- they always taste watered down and a little syrupy. Their pizzas, focaccia, and pasta are fantastic, clearly homemade. The bee sting is my go-to pizza. I enjoy splitting that with a dining companion and splitting a family-sized caesar salad. Service has always been excellent, and they have great high chairs and a kids menu!

We had lunch here and it was very good. Nice atmosphere and plenty of tables. I had an eggplant burrata sandwich delicious! Def my new go to restaurant for lunch when Im in Freeport.

I thought Portland has the best lobster bisque. Oh how I was wrong! Loved everything here. Chicken Parmesan Pasta was so good, so was the lobster bisque. Service is a bit slow but we were there at peak time.

At the forceful recommendation of friends and family, we stopped by for brunch late (10-12 pr so) on a Sunday morning. We were sat immediately. The food was amazing. We ordered Italian Toast and eggs Benedict with steak. The food came out quickly. The space is large and surprisingly had parking out back.
